Are you up for an adventure of a lifetime? Would you like to stand proudly on top of Africa?
If the answer is yes, then read on..
I’m organising a trip in 2020 to climb the highest mountain in Africa, in Tanzania, Mount Kilimanjaro (5895m).
It’s an incredible goal for anyone who has a bit of an adventurous spirit. Something that you will remember and be proud of for the rest of your life! No technical climbing skills are required!
The route that I recommend, and did myself is the 8 day Lemosho route.
The Lemosho route is one of the preferred routes due to its low traffic, beautiful scenery and a high summit success rate. The Lemosho route starts off from the west, beginning with a long drive from Moshi to Londorossi Gate. From there, the first two days are spent trekking through the lush rainforest to Shira Plateau. Minimum of 7 days are recommended to attempt this route but 8 days is preferable for better acclimatization and summit success. The Lemosho route joins the Machame route at Shira 2 Camp and then follows the same route through the southern circuit and descending at Mweka Gate.
January and February are the best months to do the climb, minimum 4 people are required to do the hike.
The price of this climb is £1,995, which includes:
Portable toilet tent
2 Night Hotel accommodation in Moshi, a day before trek and a day after trek
